Here we go again, sorting through our camping equipment and hiking gear for our first real outdoor hiking trip of the season. Yey!! Back to camping in wild places! Because our dog Aero loves all kinds of physical challenges (and eats like a horse), to pack dog food around, we decided to get her a new dog pack to share the load. We’ve been looking at various types of dog packs so she can get her much needed workout and at the same time carry her own water and food dishes, leash, collar, food, etc. What we have found is the perfect, vet designed Mountainsmith Dog Pack. This neat dog pack is a great invention – it gives her a sense of belonging (she’s part Bernese Mountain Dog) and, at the same time, gives us a chance to quickly get the maps, for example, out from her pannier instead of wrestling with our larger backpacks. The Mountainsmith Dog Pack comes with an independent adjustable fleece lined chest harness, two zippered pockets with rain flaps, a D-ring attachment point for leashes and a singe haul handle on the top. It comes in three sizes so it will fit most dogs. So have a look, buy and load – I can already hear our dog panting. We’re off for some great outdoors fun! Seriously, have a look.
