Today I was reading through some promo material that I sent for last week. We have decided to do something we have never done before. We are going whitewater rafting on the Fraser River!! I know we will get a kick out of it and, after we’ve learned some useful information about how to have safe outdoors fun on the water, a river kayak is next on our wish list. But I know that first we need good PFD’s and, after looking through some ads on the web, this one looks pretty darn good to me. It’s the Extrasport Fury Life Jacket, a type “V” PFD. It’s a 22 lbs design flotation Life Jacket, made of Commercial Grade Cordura/Nylon fabric, which is tough on the outside, yet comfortable on the inside. It has a quick-release harness, two zippered Cordura/mesh pockets and three lash tabs. In addition, the loop strips over the shoulders provide good anchor points for reflective adhesive tape. It also has a rescue belt and 4 separate adjustment points. It comes in 2 colors, red and yellow and in sizes from Small (chest 37” to 39”) to XL (46” to 48”). This product (Type V PFD) has also been approved by the Coast Guard for rescue use. That’s something I certainly value incase I need to be assisted from the icy waters of the Fraser River! If you decide to have some great outdoors fun on the water this summer and need a great PFD, check this out.
