New item #2 – the perfect hiking backpacking tent. Okay, now the search for the best lightweight camping tent is complete. This one has been fun because there are so many hiking camping tents to choose from. I felt like a kid in a candy store. We’ve chosen an ultra lightweight, free standing, 3 man tent that weights around 5 pounds. It uses lift technology and DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles and is really easy to set up. It also has very good ventilation. That ventilation is certainly going to be appreciated after all three of us (Conny, Aero and myself) have been snuggled up in the tent for a few hours. It’s called the Vario 33 and I’m glad that we decided on this 3 man tent. It will be roomy enough for us to move around a bit. That’s quite important when you need to change into dry clothes and it’s snowing outside. Once we get the tent set up and have a fire going and the canister stove busily heating up our diner – my, oh my – I can feel myself relaxing already. I can hardly wait, but, before that, I get to shop some more! Way cool! Let me see. What should we look for next? Stay tuned. To be continued…
