I must say having a gadget like this on your wrist would be a comforting accessory for any outdoor hiking adventurer. The Granddaddy of all watches, the Suunto Vector watch has been the favorite for outdoor enthusiasts from all genre of sports and recreation activities from it's inception in 1998. Changing the face of sport watches, it made it's mark as the first watch to make it to the summit of Mt. Everest. Now that’s a hike! Included in it's many functions are an altimeter, barometer, electronic compass, digital log book, and of course, a timepiece. Although one might feel a bit intimidated by this wonder watch, I certainly thought I would, it really isn't too difficult to operate. It includes a backlight, electroluminescent feature that really comes in handy on those dark starless nights in the bush. Also, I love the barometric trend indicator for those iffy weather times. This little beauty will definitely be added to my pile of hiking gear and camping equipment. Not being too savvy at high tech toys, this watch has pumped up my courage to consider other advanced tech-gadgets. Did I mention that the Suunto Vector won the prestigious European Outdoor Award-Product of the Year in 1999/2000? Cool, ey? So, if you’re looking for a high quality, general-purpose sport watch at a reasonable price, you might consider getting this watch to add to your hiking camping gear. Check it out.
