New item #5 – finding the best ski jacket. Oh, my goodness! I just proved the old adage “seek and ye shall find”! And what a find I found. It’s called the Burton LTD Heated Dream Snowboard Jacket 2009. An electric jacket! Can you believe it? It has Thermo-Tex Integrated Heating Technology and even comes with a rechargeable battery. I’m going to be sitting in front of the fire, watching the moon and the stars, wrapped in what amounts to an electric blanket. I’m blown away. The kids of today probably know all about this technology but I’ve never seen anything so amazing. This is going to be my new electric hiking coat! Conny wanted a men’s gortex jacket and found a perfect one for himself. It’s the Burton Gore-Tex Commissary Denim Snowboard Jacket. It’s a bit pricey but it comes with a lifetime warranty, and anyway, he’s worth it. This snow jacket comes in a relaxed fit so he can have his warm “Lusekofte” (that’s Norwegian) sweater on underneath. So, after dinner and before bed, while we sit by the fire enjoying the beauty and peace of the Great White North, Conny will be warm enough (but not as warm as I will be).
