New item #8 – new cozy long johns underwear. What a day for going shopping for long thermal underwear for our snow hiking trip!! It is a cold, snowy, chaotic day here in town. I hope it won’t snow so much that we have to postpone our much anticipated backpacking camping trip in the mountains. I’m excited to use all of the great new snow hiking outdoor gear we just ordered. I am going to assume that this snowfall will stop soon, and go ahead and order some new long thermal underwear. We’ve been looking at our different options, like if we our want long underwear one piece or two pieces, and have finally decided. Conny is going to get the men’s Patagonia Capilene 4 top and bottoms and I’m getting the women’s Patagonia Capilene 4 bottoms with the Capilene 3 Zip Neck top. Both of these long thermal underwear choices are noted for being soft and comfortable as well as being really good at wicking away any moisture, so they will be great to wear while are snow hiking. You know what it’s like when it’s cold out but you’re working up a sweat. When your clothes get damp, it’s gross. As the night falls quickly under the northern lights, we will be huddled together, toasty warm, with these great long johns underwear on. Makes me feel cozy just thinking about it. While we are sitting by the fire and enjoying the beautiful snowy landscape, I might lean over to Conny and whisper romantically in his ear “What is an avalanche, anyway? What does avalanche snow look like?” – just for fun. Well, I think that pretty much wraps up my shopping spree. Oh, wait! I have to think of some hiking camping food ideas. Tomorrow, the Menu. To be continued…
