Are you nervous being dependant on ground water for a drinking water supply during long camping and hiking trips? It’s a concern, isn’t it? It means that you have to purify the water before drinking it or using it in cooking. There used to be a time when you either had to boil the water for a long time to be able to use it or dissolve chemicals tablets in it but neither of these methods is very safe unless you know exactly what you are doing. Well, consider that worry over! To be able to safely drink it without getting ill from waterborne bacteria and protozoan parasites, like giardia (beaver fever) or cryptosporidia, using a MSR Sweetwater Microfilter reduces those risks by 99.99%! It is very easy to maintain – for example, a clogged filter is restored by just brushing it and the pump itself indicates when the filter needs replacing! For storing it when not in use, simply fold the handle down and slip the microfilter into the included stuff sack. A kit containing an 80-micron stainless steel pre-filter, color-coded silicone hoses, foam flat, a water bottle adapter and a cleaning brush is also included.  This is a tough and light filter. The only requirement is that you take good care of it and keep it clean. Just don't put it away wet and dirty or your water might taste a little funny next time. Other than that, no one should have any gripes about this filter! This amazing water filter only weights 11 ounces so it’s perfect to add to your hiking gear and, because it’s so efficient and safe, it might well become a much appreciated addition to your camping equipment. Safe drinking!
