Time to go fishing for flies…I mean WITH flies and a rod that can handle those heavy salmon and steelheads! We have seen some wonderful rivers on our travels. Some with those deep dark shoals where you know those elusive heavyweights lurk but they have always been way over on the other side, well out of reach for a regular casting rod. After looking around in our local fishing supply stores, we found this great 4-piece Powell TMX Fishing Fly Rod. This rod is very price worthy and casts wonderfully in both calm and fast waters as well as in those windy conditions we sometimes get on the higher plateau lakes. The Powell TMX Fishing Fly Rod is made out of Highmodolous Graphite and has a beautiful finish with chrome wire snake guides, a natural cork handle on a 1-inch fighting butt and a tough Ti-Graphite reel seat for safe anchoring of your reel (so you don’t have to worry when you’re reeling in that elusive fat cutthroat). This medium fast action fly rod is great when you use those much shorter casting techniques that are so different from casting with your regular casting rod. It also handles well when you use the “serpentine” casting techniques when you fish in faster flowing waters, when you are required to release a little bit more line than usual. With this rod’s highly affordable price, you may be tempted to buy one to use as a back up to your regular trusted rod, but you’ll soon discover that this beauty will become your number one choice! Next time we head out for some great outdoor fun activities, we’ll be slipping our new Powell TMX rod in with our other outdoor equipment gear. How about you? Let’s go fishing!
