Hey, what’s going on here? I thought this was a site
showing and recommending quality recreational and camping equipment!
Yes - but a lot of today’s campers and
recreationalists have become avid bloggers and photographers, so stuff sacks
have become very hi-tech! There is so much you can do with your laptop computer
during those seemingly endless rainy days huddled under the tarp or those hot
summer afternoons lazing by ... Continue reading ...

Are you nervous being dependant on ground water for a drinking water supply during long camping and hiking trips? It’s a concern, isn’t it? It means that you have to purify the water before drinking it or using it in cooking. There used to be a time when you either had to boil the water for a long time to be able to use it or dissolve chemicals tablets in it but neither of these methods is very safe unless you know exactly what you are doing. Well, consider that worry ... Continue reading ...

OK. Here we go. All ready for a fabulous weeklong family outdoor camping hiking trip. Now, the puzzle of how to get that big pile of very necessary outdoor equipment gear into (or onto) our vehicle. Luckily, I do believe I’ve found a solution to the problem. It’s a terrific roof rack system that makes it easy even if you have to load 4 bikes, 4 kayaks or 4 big backpacks. There is even a special tire-mounting bracket for if you want to temporarily relocate the spare tire to free ... Continue reading ...

All dressed up and nowhere to go? Isn’t it a drag, after you have invested in brand new hiking and camping gear for the summer, that you find yourself looking at the same old tattered, ripped and coffee-stained maps? With that shiny new gear, wouldn’t it be grand to march forward in exploration with the right maps in hand? We all know that things change all the time and this is especially true when it comes to roads, land accessibility and hiking trails. A great source for ... Continue reading ...

When you first see this compact little bundle, only 5”X 32”, it’s hard to imagine how it can be transformed into a 32” square, 28” tall, sturdy camping table that can support up to 175 pounds. But it does, and quite easily, too. This little camping table is just the thing for truck or car camping because it takes up so little space. It would also be perfect as part of your canoe accessories. It might not, however, be a great choice for a hiking camping trip because it weighs aro... Continue reading ...

New item #7 – foot first aid. As I’m sure you’ve learned from my enthusiastic blogs, I am a keen optimist. However, I try to be a careful realist when it comes to backcamping camping in the wilderness. I am determined that nothing, no thing (even a nasty blister), is going to put a blemish on our fantasy weekend! I’ve picked up a couple of packages of Glacier Blister and Burn Dressings, with each package containing 3 small and 3 large bandages. They are super cool… literally... Continue reading ...
