Need A New Camping Stove To Include In Your Outdoor Equipment Gear?

Posted by Vicki on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, In : REI
I remember, back in November, talking about all the “soft deep fluffy snow blanketing our mountain trails”. Well, here it is, the 26th of January, and the local mountains are almost bare. I just got back from walking the dog and realized that the grass is very green, there are fat buds on the bushes and tulips are shooting up all over the place… AND… there is next to no snow on the mountains! This isn’t actually very good since we’re hosting the Win...

A Most Efficient Camp Stove

Posted by Vicki on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, In : REI
With summer just around the corner, I’ve been going through all our summer hiking gear and camping equipment, looking for items that might need replacing. As I came across our old camp stove, I remembered vividly the last time I used it. It’s flame was so uneven that it scorched my cook set and also the food. A Really Great Canister Stove

Posted by Vicki on Monday, December 15, 2008, In : Wilderness Dining

New item #1 – a great canister stove.  This will be perfect for me to cook up some tasty, hearty meals on.  I might even get the title of “Great Chef of Camp Stoves”.  I think that this little gem is the ideal portable camping stove. It weighs just over 2 pounds, it’s dimensions are only 4.5 x 8.25 inches and it has a 2 liter capacity.  Plenty large enough for the three of us (Aero likes to share our meals with us after she’s eaten her own).  This all-in-one canister stove system ha...
